Following the announcement by the Metropolitan Police that they are to offer a £5,000 cash incentive to police officers transferring from other forces, I have joined with Police & Crime Commissioners from across the South East to condemn the move.

Thames Valley beating the national average in responding to 999 calls
The 999 Performance Data which was released today as part of the Government’s Beating Crime Plan details the time it takes for forces to answer 999 calls. Thames Valley Police answered 83% of 999 calls in under 10 seconds.
Organised crime group members sentenced to total of 74 years in prison for multiple offences
Six members of an organised crime group (OCG) have today (20/5) been sentenced to a total of 74 years in prison after they were convicted of a string of ATM thefts, commercial burglaries and other serious offences across the Thames Valley and the southeast of England.
