Everything I do as your Police & Crime Commissioner will be on your behalf and in your interests.

I am married to Katie and father to Emily and Lucy and we live in West Hanney. I grew up in Faringdon where my parents still live. I attended school in Oxfordshire and graduated from Brunel University. When I am not taking the girls to various clubs and events, I enjoy watching rugby and my long walks with our labrador, Oscar, often lead us to a local pub.

My experience
I was first elected as your Police & Crime Commissioner in 2021, and re-elected in 2024. As PCC covering Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes it is my privilege to be the voice of the public, representing two and a half million people. My priorities for Thames Valley Police are simple: to cut crime and catch more criminals.

During my time as PCC I have overseen the growth of Thames Valley Police to record numbers of police officers and been instrumental in introducing a tough response to help reduce knife crime and a renewed focus on issues such as shoplifting.

I served as Deputy PCC from 2017 to 2021 and previously served as a councillor in the Vale of White Horse for nearly nineteen years. First elected in 2003 I led the Council from 2011 to 2018 having delivered a new Local Plan, maintained low council tax and introduced 2hr free parking to help boost the local economy.

I am currently a director of BlueLight Commercial and the National Business Crime Solution Ltd, having previously been appointed a director of the Police Digital Service and the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership. I was the founding Chairman of Vale4Business and a Board Member of Science Vale.

My values and our responsibility
I love my country and care deeply about our communities. My conservative values lead me to believe that we all have a responsibility towards one another to build a better society. We all deserve the security and safety that effective policing can bring and I want to ensure that we make every community in Thames Valley safer. A small, effective state can provide the security that we all need to allow individuals, families and businesses to thrive.
