I can announce today that Jason Hogg is returning to his duties as Chief Constable of Thames Valley police with immediate effect.

Whilst the IOPC will continue their investigation, I am pleased to be able to reinstate the Chief Constable to continue his work leading Thames Valley Police. I have always had confidence in Jason Hogg as Chief Constable and I look forward to continuing working in partnership with him on behalf of communities in Thames Valley. 

My priorities for Thames Valley Police are cutting crime and catching criminals. As your Police and Crime Commissioner, it is my responsibility to ensure that the police have the resources they need to deliver on those priorities.

Matthew Barber, PCC for Thames Valley, and Thames Valley Police officers working to reduce retail crime recently met with over 50 representatives of the largest retailers and businesses in the region at the Oracle Shopping Centre.

Today’s funding settlement from Government does not provide the increase in core funding needed to relieve the pressure on the policing budget in Thames Valley.  

Whilst there is a cash increase in funding, it falls short of the increase necessary to maintain current levels of policing, let alone deliver the increases that we would all want to see.
