Big increase in charges in first month of Operation Deter

One month since the launch of Operation Deter, Thames Valley Police is today (2/8) releasing the latest figures for charges and convictions so far in Milton Keynes.

Results show a significant increase in charge and remand decisions compared with June as the force seeks to adopt a tougher new approach to tackling knife crime.

Sign up to Community Speedwatch

To help improve road safety in the Thames Valley, Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Barber is encouraging people to sign up to Community Speedwatch.

Groups across the Thames Valley are being encouraged to join the scheme where they can apply to receive a starter kit, including a speed detection device, to help their volunteers monitor and tackle speeding within their communities.

Over £1.67m of funding secured for Safer Streets across the Thames Valley

The Thames Valley has been successful in all four bids that were submitted to receive a portion of this national funding, with over £1.67 million secured for activity across six local authority areas; Reading, Windsor and Maidenhead, Wokingham, Bracknell Forest, Cherwell and Milton Keynes.
