Neighbourhood Policing Week
Matthew Barber has welcomed the start of Neighbourhood Policing Week, which runs from Monday 23 – Sunday 29 June 2025
“This week marks Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action, an opportunity to shine a light on the positive work our officers are doing to protect communities across Thames Valley.
“Throughout the week Thames Valley Police will be highlighting the vital work that neighbourhood officers, police community support officers (PCSOs) and volunteers do to protect the public and keep people safe.
“In Thames Valley we have more than doubled the number of neighbourhood police officers across the Force with a further 68 due to be recruited this year as part of our commitment to delivering my Crimefighters strategy.
“Later this week, I will join some of our local neighbourhood officers on patrol, to see the work they are doing to tackle local issues, including anti-social behaviour, as well as speaking to residents to find out their thoughts on local policing.
“Throughout the week, you can find out what your local policing team is up to by following #NeighbourhoodPolicingWeek on social media. To find out more about your local neighbourhood team and the officers working to protect your community visit thamesvalley.police.uk and enter your postcode.”
