UPDATE: Three arrested after police officer seriously injured in Stoke Poges

An on-duty police officer was involved in a collision last night, leaving him in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Today, officers investigating the incident have made three arrests.

A 28-year-old man from Slough has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and a 43-year-old man, also from Slough, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice. A 38-year-old man who was arrested earlier today on suspicion of attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

All three remain in police custody at this time.

The arrests are in connection with an incident on the B416 Bells Hill between Decies Way and Rogers Lane in Stoke Poges, which occurred at 10.20pm yesterday (22/5).

The injured officers’ loved ones and colleagues are being supported at this extremely difficult time.

The road remains closed in both directions between Decies Way and Rogers Lane. The closure directly affects the Banana Moon Day Nursery and this is no access to the nursery at present.

My thoughts are with the officer, his family and his colleagues who will also be deeply affected. It is another stark reminder of the dangers that our police and emergency service colleagues face on a daily basis.  Thames Valley Police is supporting the officer’s family at this difficult time.

Anybody with any information that may assist us is urged to contact Thames Valley Police, either online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43250252869.
