Taking money from criminals to get phones out of schools
Launched at a Phone Free Schools event at the Aureus School in Didcot, this scheme will makes sure schools become properly phone free during the school day. £255,000 to support the project is being taken from criminals, funded by the sale of stolen goods that cannot be returned to their rightful owners and orders against criminals by the courts.
£200,000 seized from criminals available to local community groups
A total of £200,000 of grant funding is available for community and voluntary groups to apply for to help reduce crime across Thames Valley.

Each year Thames Valley Police recover hundreds of thousands of pounds of stolen property from criminals. Sadly it is not always possible to reunite stolen goods with their rightful owners and so the proceeds from the sale of these items helps to fund crime prevention initiatives.
