Oxfordshire County Council’s planned changes to our local recycling centres will increase fly tipping!

Oxfordshire County Council are consulting residents on changes to how our local recycling centres are run.

I am concerned that these changes, if left unchallenged, will lead to an increase in waste crime and fly-tipping.

They’ve already decided to introduce a booking system - that is not being consulted on now.

So what else is being planned?

  • Reducing the hours that recycling centres are open

  • Reducing the number of days they are open (possibly from 7 to 5)

  • Imposing checks to prove that you live in Oxfordshire

  • Making more vehicle times subject to registering for a permit

  • Reducing the number of times people with permits can use the sites from 12 to 6 each year

  • Banning horseboxes

  • Banning any vehicles with sign writing or business logos on them all together
