PCC announces boost to crime prevention plans

Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Barber has confirmed a 15% increase to his Partnership Fund for the next three years to help cut crime

The funding will provide almost £9m to allow local councils and the police to work together to help reduce crime and tackle anti-social behaviour.

The new cycle of funding provided to Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) runs from April 2025 to March 2028 will deliver a total of £8.879m to support community safety initiatives and address the priorities in the PCC’s Police & Crime Plan.

Matthew Barber said “Preventing crime has to be our top priority and I am delighted to be able to deliver this huge boost to local funding as the same time as seeking to recruit more neighbourhood police officers.

“This funding strengthens the excellent work already taking place across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire and will support local initiatives to make our communities safer.”
