East Hagbourne Post Office may be saved thanks to local campaign

Thanks to the efforts of everyone who backed the local campaign to save East Hagbourne Post Office - there is hope!

I wrote to the Post Office Minister back in March to raise the impact of the decision not to recruit a new sub-postmaster. Today I have received confirmation from the Minister that the Post Office have changed their mind!

In his letter to me today the Minister has confirmed that "Post Office Limited has now decided to advertise the opportunity to operate the East Hagbourne branch."

Details should soon be published on runapostoffice.co.uk (not there at the time of writing), so there will shortly be an opportunity for anyone interested in the position to express an interest, which will hopefully lead to the reopening of the Post Office branch in East Hagbourne!
