A clear plan to protect Thames Valley
Today I have published my new plan - Protecting Thames Valley - which sets out my focus on protecting people, communities and property in Thames Valley if re-elected as Police & Crime Commissioner on 2nd May.
I’ve listened to residents from across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes and I’m offering a clear plan for common sense policing.
Building on the successes of the last three years we now have more police officers than ever before and I’ve delivered on my promise to double the number of neighbourhood officers.
I am the only candidate at this election running a positive campaign with a clear plan to deliver safer communities for the people of Thames Valley.
My plan will:
Protecting Communities
Focus on crime prevention
Continue to expand neighbourhood policing
Saving lives through better road safety enforcement
Tackling anti-social behaviour in partnership with local councils
Building confidence in policing
Protecting People
Improving the response to rape and sexual assaults
Continuing to tackle domestic abuse and support victims
Make our towns and cities safer at night time
Continue to drive down serious violence
Deal with exploitation and online abuse
Protecting Property
Continuing to reduce residential burglary
Tackling retail crime such as shoplifting
Reducing vehicle crime
Dealing with rural crime
Improving prevention to reduce cyber crime and fraud
Rhetoric is easy but delivery is harder. Crime in key areas such as burglary and vehicle crime are down since before the pandemic. Knife crime is down by 13% this year and I’m taking action on shoplifting. There is work still to do and I am the only candidate with a plan to keep Thames Valley safe.
But the only way I can deliver this is with your support on Thursday 2nd May.
