Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) funding is helping to recruit hundreds of new Neighbourhood Watch volunteers across the Thames Valley

A Better Place to Live, launched nationally on 6 March, is Neighbourhood Watch’s biggest recruitment drive in recent times, aiming to boost community participation and reduce both the fear and likelihood of crime.

Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley, Matthew Barber, has today (28/2) awarded voluntary and community organisations £105,520 in the first round of this year’s Community Fund. 

On Friday 17th February, Matthew Barber visited The Pump House Project to find out how £1,000 of funding, awarded via the PCC’s Community Fund, will support the running of their Community Owned Guidance Service (COGS).

New CCTV cameras have been installed across the centre of Milton Keynes

This week, the last of a number of new CCTV cameras have been put in place throughout the city centre to provide extra security and reassurance to those living, working and visiting Milton Keynes.

Matthew Barber, Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Thames Valley has announced a Thames Valley Stalking Service providing specialist support to victims of stalking across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Matthew presented a number of commendations to officers and staff from Thames Valley Police, Milton Keynes City Council and the Crown Prosecution Service for their work on Operation Deter.
