Thames Valley Police, Slough Borough Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner for the Thames Valley are joining forces for a month of action to tackle violent crime in Slough, as the National Monument Against Violence and Aggression arrives in the town.

The month of action against violence in December was marked with the arrival of the National Monument Against Violence and Aggression.

Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Barber has launched a competition, ‘The Knife Sentence’, to raise awareness of the impact of knife crime on individuals and communities and give young people the opportunity to express their feelings against violence.

The risks to both women and girls in our communities can take many different forms, from domestic abuse to public place harassment, stalking to sexual violence.

Over one million pounds worth of machinery, tools and equipment have been recovered by the Thames Valley Police Rural Crime Taskforce since its launch earlier this year.
