Thames Valley Police releases half-year statistics, with nearly half a million reports from the public

As part of Thames Valley Police’s commitment to give the public an insight into its work, today (28/10) the force is releasing statistics on its activity over the six months 1 April to 30 September 2022.

This period saw the force undertake one of its largest and most significant operations in its history, with more than 2,500 police officers and staff policing the committal service in Windsor of Her Majesty The Queen.

Operation Deter will adopt a zero-tolerance approach to knives – Slough

Following the successful launch of Operation Deter - a zero tolerance approach to knife crime in Milton Keynes and Aylesbury, Thames Valley Police have now extended the initiative to Slough.

The past few days have seen a series of tragic events in Slough. The town has been a focus of attention for some weeks as a result of recent incidents and I have been back in Slough today to discuss the latest situation with police. I have visited the scene of yesterday's murder and seen for myself the flowers being laid in tribute. I am confident that the Force will find those responsible and bring them to justice but there is longer term work to do to address the issues of violent crime.
